Adult family homes (AHs) focus on supporting residents who need help with activities of daily living (ADLs). Key services include:
Bathing and personal hygiene:
Assistance with showering, bathing, grooming, and oral care, ensuring comfort and dignity.
Dressing
Helping residents select and put on clothing appropriate for the season and occasion.
Mobility and transfers
Support for moving safely around the home, including getting in and out of bed or chairs, and walking assistance
Toileting and incontinence care
Aid with restroom use and managing incontinence in a respectful and dignified manner.
Medication management Staff provide reminders, assist with or administer medication, and help with pharmacy refills to reduce medication errors.
Eating and nutrition
Meals are prepared and served in the home, often accommodating special diets (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, vegetarian) and healthy snacks throughout the day.
